Sharjah Driving Institute

Traffic accidents are one of the most serious challenges we encounter, posing a serious threat to our human capital. This concern has drawn the focused attention of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah. In line with his deep commitment and visionary approach to safeguarding the well-being of our nation's youth, he directed the establishment of Sharjah Driving Institute, which became operational in mid-October 1991 and was officially inaugurated in February 11, 1992.
The Institute is considered the first government institute in Emirate of Sharjah as well as across UAE and the Middle East. Since its inception, it has been closely associated with two government partners - Sharjah City Municipality and Sharjah Police.
It is unique in being an educational, service, security and investment entity, which required the development of its own regulations, systems and legislation, as it works to train and qualify drivers to obtain a driving license for all categories, in addition to preparing and implementing specialized courses for examiners, driving instructors and other professionals, aiming to promote safe driving and reduce traffic accidents.
